Manchester United's Paul Pogba is not the only player who will be reunited with his old employers in the summer transfer window. Chelsea have signed on Brazilian defender David Luiz, after the London-based club agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain for his transfer. The fee is believed to be around £34 million, according to the BBC.

Chelsea had sold Luiz to French champions PSG for a whopping £50 million just two years ago. Chelsea announced on their official website that a fee had been agreed upon between the two clubs.

The Blues were looking for a defensive reinforcement all through the summer, and had failed with bids for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli. A frustrated Chelsea then turned towards their former employee on the last day of the transfer window. Chelsea submitted an initial bid of £32 million, which was rejected by the Parisian club.

Luiz joins midfielder Nemanja Matic in re-signing after leaving the club. Incidentally, Matic was a part of the player-cum-cash deal when Luiz first signed for Chelsea from Benfica back in 2011. Luiz had won the UEFA Champions League with the London club during his first stint.
