The Indian men's football team jumped four spots to be ranked 148th in the latest edition of the FIFA world rankings for the men's national teams.
This comes on the back of a resounding 4-1 win over Puerto Rico earlier this month in an international friendly in Mumbai.
Puerto Rico dropped 24 places themselves to be ranked 138th. Bolivia and the Central African Republic are the biggest movers, gaining and dropping 35 places to be ranked 75th and 122nd respectively.
Argentina stay on top while Brazil jumped five places to be ranked tied-fourth with Colombia. Uruguay and Wales entered the top 10 and were ranked ninth and 10th respectively. Spain and Italy dropped out of the top 10, losing three places each to be ranked 11th and 13th respectively.
India were ranked 166th at the end of 2015, its worst year-end ranking since the rankings were started in 1993. India's highest ever ranking is 94, achieved in 1996.
