Current secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India was re-elected unopposed in the same post at the Indian cricket body's 87th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday. Former Indian wicket-keeper MSK Prasad was picked as the new chairman of selectors, replacing Sandeep Patil.

The other members in the selection panel are Devang Gandhi, Jatin Paranjpe, Sarandeep Singh and Gagan Khoda. Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad was retained as the chairman of the junior selection committee.

Shrike, who has earlier headed the Maharashtra Cricket Association, was appointed as BCCI secretary in July after Anurag Thakur was elected the president, following Shashank Manohar's move to the International Cricket Council. Thakur will also continue as the BCCI's representative of the BCCI.

However, the appointment of the five-member selection panel may contravene the Justice Lodha committee's guidelines to keep the selection panel down to only three members. The panel had also recommended that only former Test cricketers be a part of this panel but out of this current panel, Khoda and Paranjpe have not played Test cricket.

The committee had earlier warned the BCCI to not conduct any business in the AGM which was related to 2016-'17.
