The Board of Control for Cricket adjourned its scheduled Special General Meeting in Mumbai to Saturday on technical grounds. The meeting had been called to discuss the reforms suggested the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha panel and with its adjournment, the Indian cricket body has effectively missed the first deadline (September 30) to implement the Lodha panel's recommendations.

According to PTI, the reason for the adjournment was that some of the BCCI's member units had arrived without a letter of authorisation. "They have been told to get proper letter of authorisation from their respective units," a source present in the meeting said.

The Board drew the ire of the Supreme Court after the Lodha committee submitted its status report before the apex court listing violations committed by the BCCI in its recently concluded Annual General Meeting. The BCCI has time till October 6 to respond to the status report.
