The Indian women’s cricket team will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur in the Twenty20 International series against West Indies, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Saturday. Kaur replaces Mithali Raj, who will remain in charge of the one-day squad for the West Indies tour starting in Vijaywada on November 10. Kaur will also lead the team for the Asia Cup ODIs in Thailand from November 27.

After India’s poor showing at the Women’s World T20 at home earlier this year, and with the World Cup 2017 in England around the corner, the selectors are ringing in many changes to the side.

Maharashtra’s 19-year-old all-rounder Devika Vaidya is set to make her ODI debut, along with West Bengal’s Sukanya Parida. Vaidya was among the top run-scorers during the Senior Women’s One-Day League. She and Parida were also a part of the Challenger Trophy-winning team India Red.
