Manchester City came from behind to register an emphatic 3-1 win against Barcelona, exorcising some of ghosts of the 0-4 they suffered against Luis Enrqiue's side at Camp Nou. Arsenal turned around a 0-2 deficit to down Ludogorets in a five-goal while Antoine Griezmann further enhanced his reputation as an expert marksman with a double against FC Rostov.

Paris Saint-Germain about did just enough to down 10-man FC Basel away from home while Brendan Rogers yet again showed a semblance of Champions League nous as his Celtic side denied Borussia Monchengladbach a win at home. The German side also had a man sent off in the game. Robert Lewandowski could have had a half-a-dozen goals to his name but settled for two as Bayern Munich came from a goal down to beat PSV Eindhoven.

Pep Guardiola finally outsmarts Barcelona

The Etihad witnessed one of Manchester City's greatest nights in European football as an Ilkay Gundogan double and a thumping Kevin de Bruyne free-kick helped them get the better of five-time Champions League winners Barcelona. It was the away side who started on the front foot and went into the lead through Lionel Messi's goal. Luis Suarez and Neymar had combined to put the Argentinian through on goal.

City came back into the game in style and bombarded Marc-Andre ter Stegen's goal with a number of chances. Raheem Sterling, who had an average game, slipped through a cute pass to find Gundogan in space to set up the first goal.

City dominated Barcelona in the second half through direct attacking play. De Bryune's free-kick was superbly struck but Ter Stegen could have made a better attempt in tipping the ball over the bar. The match was put to bed by Gundogan, who latched onto a loose ball in the box to slot in his side's third goal, which had a bit of controversy surrounding it, given that the ball had ricocheted off Sergio Aguero's arm.

Arsenal save face with a fine comeback win

The Gunners were facing embarrassment at the stroke 15 minutes as Jonathan Cafu and Claudio Keseru gave Ludogorets a 2-0 lead. For Arsenal, Granit Xhaka scored five minutes later to hand the momentum back to the North London side, and they never looked back from there.

Olivier Giroud leveled scores before half-time with a towering header from a free-kick. With three minutes on the clock, Mesut Ozil scored off a brilliant solo effort, rounding two defenders and the goalkeeper before coolly tucking the ball away into the net. The win confirms Arsenal's qualification to the knockout stages of the competition.

Lewandowski's double sinks PSV Eindhoven

Some of PSV Eindhoven's greatest legends in modern times such as Guus Hiddink, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Marco van Bommel were in attendance at the Phillips Stadium to witness this encounter. Another legend, Phillip Cocu, looked like he was going to script a famous win when right-back Santiago Arias' cross-cum-shot squirmed into the Munich goal.

Lewandowski, who had struck the crossbar five minutes into the game, hammered the ball home from the penalty spot and scored one more in the second-half. The Polish striker had more chances in the game and struck the crossbar on two other occasions.

Griezmann leaves it late

Antoine Griezmann gave Atletico Madrid three points with a winner in the dying seconds of the game. The Frenchman had put his side in the lead with a nonchalant flick of his left boot.

That stunning effort was cancelled out by Sardar Azmoun, who leveled things up for FC Rostov. Griezmann's shot in the final minute of stoppage time hit the crossbar before rolling into the net.
