Australia’s Adam Voges suffered a concussion after being struck on the helmet by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania on Thursday, reported ESPNCricinfo. The Western Australia captain was ruled out of the rest of the match after retiring hurt on 16. Voges failed to duck to the delivery from Cameron Stevenson and received a sickening blow to the helmet.

Voges immediately stumbled to his knees and lay on the ground for a while after the blow. He was assisted off the ground by medical staff. Earlier this year, Voges had suffered a head injury while playing county cricket for England’s Middlesex. Voges was fielding at slip and was hit on the back of the head by a ball being thrown to the wicket-keeper after a boundary.
