Delhi's Rishabh Pant continues to grow in reputation as one of the country's brightest young prospects in this year's Ranji Trophy. Once again, he bulldozed his way into the record books with his big hitting: he has now registered the fastest century in the history of India's premier domestic tournament, getting to the milestone in just 48 balls against Jharkhand in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old's blistering knock ended at 135, which came off just 67 deliveries, laced with 13 sixes and eight fours at a stupendous strike-rate of 201.49. Pant had also scored 117 during Delhi's first innings, but his efforts were not enough for his side to avoid the follow-on. After Dhruv Shorey took Delhi to safety with a patient 91, Pant launched yet another astonishing counter-attack, targeting Jharkhand spinners Shahbaz Nadeem and Sunny Gupta.

These feats came at the back of a whirlwind triple-hundred against Maharashtra at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai last month. He had become the third-youngest Indian to slam a triple hundred in the process. The Delhi-Jharkhand match ended in a draw.
