New Zealand will take on Australia in the third one-day game in Hamilton as they hope to regain the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy on Sunday. After winning the first match in Auckland, the second game was washed out in Napier. The third has all the makings of a great contest between the two arch-rivals.

On Saturday, during a press conference featuring New Zealand’s Tom Latham, Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell took up the role of a journalist and asked the Kiwi about his views on the upcoming clash. “After a disappointing showing in the Australian series, how important is it for you guys to win the last game of the series?” asked Maxwell. Latham replied saying, ”Yeah, obviously, very important, Maxi.” The other journalists and cameramen laughed at the developing chitchat. “We’d really like to have that Chappell-Hadlee [trophy] back so a good performance tomorrow and hopefully we can keep it in New Zealand,” added Latham.

However, Maxwell wasn’t finished. He compared Latham to Australia’s great wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist. “You’ve been compared to Adam Gilchrist with your wicketkeeping and left-hand opening batsman skills. How does that sit with you right now?” Maxwell asked. Latham took the compliment and didn’t bother thinking about it. “That’s the first time I’ve heard it but I’ll take that,” he replied.
