England beat West Indies in the second One-Day International in Antigua to win the three-match series 2-0 on Sunday. However, the four-wicket win wasn’t an easy one as Joe Root and Chris Woakes had to stitch an unbeaten partnership of 102 runs for the seventh wicket to take England home.

West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. They were bowled out for 225, with Liam Plumkett taking 3/32. England were off to a horrible start as they lost opener Sam Billings for a duck. They were struggling at 124/6 as Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali returned to the pavilion with single-digit scores.

However, Woakes, along with Root, took England home with 10 balls and four wickets to spare. Root was the Man of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 90. The next one-day game will be played of March 9.

Brief scores:

West Indies 225 (Jason Mohammed 50, Liam Plunkett 3-32) lost to England 226/6 (Joe Root 90 not out, Chris Woakes 68 not out) by 4 wickets.
