Australia will host England in the first women’s day-night Test as part of a multi-format Ashes series later this year. Both the teams will meet on November 9-12 at the North Sydney Oval for the landmark game. This will be the only Test in a seven-match series that also includes three one-day internationals and as many Twenty20 internationals.

“Test matches we don’t play a lot of and for it to be a day-night pink-ball Test is extra special,” said Meg Lanning, captain of the Australian women’s team.

Australia had also hosted the first ever men’s day-night Test against New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval in 2015. The Australian men’s team also played South Africa in a day-night Test in Adelaide last year. Steve Smith’s men will face England in a day-night Test at the same venue during the Ashes 2017-’18.
