The United States’ Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy is ready to make Zlatan Ibrahimovic the highest-paid player in the league if he joins them this the summer, BBC reported.
Ibrahimovic, who is currently on a year-long contract with Manchester United, has been in sublime form for the Red Devils this season. He has scored 26 goals for United this season and the club has shown interest to keep the 35-year-old Swede striker.
However, with Galaxy ready to shell out the big bucks, it will be interesting to see where Ibrahimovic ends up going. The three-time MLS champions told BBC that they have a realistic chance of signing Ibrahimovic in July.
LA Galaxy paid former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard $6.1 million last season, after which he retired. In 2016, Brazilian forward Kaka was the highest paid player in MLS, with an annual salary of $7.167 million playing for Orlando City.
