There are many ‘tennis’ reasons to love Roger Federer. And then, there are moments like these.
Federer has given thousands of press conferences over a storied 20-year career, but rarely, if ever, have the grilling group had such a variety of questions. In a special BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) presser, the former World No 1 was put to the test by kids and the questions had him in splits.
“What is your coolest move?”
“On the dance floor or the tennis court?,” Roger joked. “On the dance floor I have many. On the tennis court, maybe the shot through the legs. But I can’t do it very often.”
More than 50 schoolchildren from the Gerald R. Ford Elementary School went on an excursion to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, enjoying the experience of a lifetime. The second graders took part in the inaugural ‘Kids-Only Press Conference’, with each given the opportunity to ask the Swiss maestro a question.
