The Pakistan Cricket Board has ordered an inquiry after an unidentified fan entered a dressing room during the recently concluded Pakistan Super League, reported PTI.
The incident came as embarrassment for the PCB, who promised tight security for the final, which was held in Lahore. The report added that 12,000 policemen, paramilitary rangers and military personnel had been deployed for the final.
The incident was reported by English batsman Dawid Malan, who represented Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL. Malan alleged that the fan barged into the dressing room, and asked for autographs and selfies.
PCB chief Shaharyar Khan stated that an inquiry has been launched over the matter, “It is a matter of concern for us and it came to our knowledge few days back about this person getting into the dressing rooms. We have ordered an inquiry to find out how this happened and where the security lapse occurred,” Khan said.
Peshawar Zalmi had beaten Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to lift the PSL title held on March 5.
