Services beat Chandigarh 1-0 to register first win of Santosh Trophy campaign

Services defeated Chandigarh 1-0 in a Group A final round league match of the Santosh Trophy at Tilak Stadium in Vasco on Thursday, PTI reported.

Services scored in the 8th minute through a penalty by Francis Zountlunga. They controlled the match from then on and closed out the game without much trouble. The win gave Services their first win of the tournament.

In another Group A match, Goa and Bengal settled for a goalless draw at the GMC Stadium. The draw takes Goa’s tally to four points from two matches, while West Bengal continue to lead the table in Group A with seven points from three matches.
