The second semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy between Jharkhand and Bengal and the final have been rescheduled after a fire broke out at the Jharkhand team’s hotel in Delhi on Friday. The Jharkhand team, led by MS Dhoni, had to be evacuated from the hotel early Friday morning after the fire broke out.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that all the players and match officials are unhurt and safe. However, the players are not in a position to play the match, PTI reported.

The Jharkhand-Bengal semi-final will be on Saturday instead of Friday, while the final will now be played on Monday instead of Sunday, both at the Feroz Shah Kotla. The match referee took the decision to postpone the games.

Both teams were at the ground on Friday, but the Jharkhand players were visibly disturbed, which led the BCCI to give them a day’s time to get into a proper frame of mind, the report said. Earlier reports suggested that while the players left the hotel safely, their cricket gear was damaged in the fire.
