The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in a draw after Shaun March and Peter Handscomb battted India out of the Ranchi Test on the fifth day with a 124-run partnership. The series is still level at 1-1 with the deciding Test to be played in Dharamsala from Saturday.

The five, fluctuating days of the Test oscillated between India and Australia, making it a fascinating contest for fans all over. The Test veered from exciting to even sometimes staid, with a result being possible till the first session on the final day.

A brief recap, Australia put on 451 runs in the first innings aided by centuries from Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell and had India on the backfoot with six wickets down, before Cheteshwar Pujara and Wriddhiman Saha built a marathon partnership to give India a lead of 152. But in the end it came down to the very basics of Test match – as the Australian batsmen played out the last day to end in a draw.
