Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer, who played out the Indian Wells final this past Sunday, could face each other again, in the semi-final of the Miami Open.

Wawrinka, who is the top-seed in the tournament following the withdrawal of both World No 1 Andy Murray and the World No 2 Novak Djokovic, has been joined by his countryman, who is seeded fourth, in the top-half of the 96-man draw. The World No 3, who has a first round bye could face either Portugal’s Gastao Elias or Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos in the second round. Wawrinka could also meet 12th seed Nick Kyrgios in the quarter-finals.
Federer, meanwhile, could face either a qualifier or Russia’s Konstanin Kravchuk in the second round. The two-time former champion could meet Juan Martin del Potro in the third round, and has been drawn to face sixth seed Dominic Thiem in the last-eight.
In the second-half of the draw, second seed Kei Nishikori and third seed Milos Raonic are the slated semi-finalists.

The Canadian, who withdrew from Indian Wells with a hamstring injury, is in the same quarter as the fifth seeded Rafael Nadal and could meet the Mallorcan in the quarter-finals. Raonic will play either Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro or Serbia’s Viktor Troicki in the second round. Nadal could face either a qualifier or Israel’s Dudi Sela in his opening round.
Nishikori could take on South African Kevin Anderson or a qualifier in his second round match, and could face Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the third round. The Japanese could also have a rematch of his 2014 US Open final against the seventh seeded Marin Cilic in the quarter-finals.
