Former Pakistan player Saqlain Mushtaq has reportedly signed a two-year deal as England’s spin-bowling consultant, the Guardian reported. In addition to helping the senior side, he will also assist England Lions and the U19 team during his tenure.
The 40-year-old had briefly joined the England camp for the tours of Bangladesh and India. “I will assist the Lions and the U19 team, apart from the national team,” Saqlain told Pakistan’s Express Tribune. “I will assist players in camps and will also tour with the national team. Bowlers like Adil [and Moeen] improved a lot during my last stint with them. I hope I will be able to further augment their skill set.”
Apart from the English team, Saqlain has previously served New Zealand, West Indies and Bangladesh in various capacities.
