Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli on Tuesday said that he would be fit in time to play against Mumbai Indians on April 14.

“Can’t wait to get back onto the field. Almost there now. 14th April,” Kohli announced in a post on social media platform Instagram.

Kohli, who had injured his shoulder during the third Test against Australia in Ranchi, has been on the road to recovery and missed the fourth Test in Dharamsala. He joined RCB ahead of the Indian Premier League, but has so far missed three games.

Mumbai Indians will pay Bengaluru a visit on Friday. This will be Kohli’s first match since leading India to a 2-1 win over Australia. The 28-year-old had scored just 46 runs from the six innings he played in the series and will be looking to get back among the runs.

RCB have so far won a match and lost two. In his absence the team is being led by Shane Watson, who has struggled to form a cohesive unit with a number of casualties in the squad.

Like Kohli, South Africa batsman AB de Villiers was also laid low through a back injury. He returned after missing the first two games and played a stellar 89-run knock against Kings XI Punjab on Monday. Heading into the tournament, KL Rahul had been ruled out with a shoulder injury, while Mitchell Starc withdrew from the tournament in bid to recover from a foot strain.

Just ahead of the first game, youngster Sarfaraz Khan had injured his leg and is out for at least another week.
