India’s paddlers on Thursday booked their places in the quarter-finals of the Belgium Junior and Cadet Open Table Tennis tournament, part of the ITTF World Junior Circuit, PTI reported.
In the junior boys’ category Manush Shah beat Karlsson Filip of Sweden 13-15, 11-8, 12-10, 5-11, 12-10, 11-7 in a closely contested match, while Manav Thakkar also beat another Swedish player by a 4-2 margin.
Archana Kamath managed to keep her nerves and got the better of her German opponent Fischer Elli 4-3 in the junior girls’ category. Meanwhile, Moumita Dutta defeated her French opponent Pauly Prost Amelie by a comfortable 4-2 margin and then went on to win her doubles match partnering Selina Selvakumar.
