Rahul Bhardhvaj BM, 17, and Aakarshi Kashyap, 15, won the Under-19 titles in boys singles and girls singles respectively at the All India Junior Ranking Tournament in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Bhardhvaj, the eighth seed, beat the sixth seed Aryamann Tandon of Gujarat 21-12, 21-14 in the final of the U-19 boys singles. Bhardhvaj had beaten junior world No 1 Lakshya Sen in the semi-finals in straight games.

Kashyap, the 15-year-old top seed in the U-19 girls singles, beat Vaidehi Choudhari 21-15, 21-12 in the final. Kashyap also reached the U-17 final, but lost to 14-year-old Gayatri Gopichand in three games 13-21, 21-17, 21-14. This was Gayatri’s second straight title win in All India Junior Ranking Tournaments.

In the U-17 boys singles final, 14-year-old Maisnam Meiraba of Manipur beat 16-year-old Iman Sonowal of Assam 21-17, 21-12.

Fifth seeds Kush Sugh and Piyush Kumar won the U-17 boys doubles title, while third seeds Sahithi Bandi and Varshini VS won the girls doubles.

Fourth seeds Manjit Singh Khwairakpam and Dingku Sing Konthoujam won the U-19 boys doubles, while fourth seeds Rutuparna Panda and Mithula UK beat top seeds Ashwini Bhat K and Apeksha Nayak in the girls doubles final.

Sri Krishna Sai Kumar Podile and Rutuparna Panda won the U-19 mixed doubles final after beating top seeds Sanjai Srivatsa D and Srishti Jupudi.
