Bob and Mike Bryan ended the run of Rohan Bopanna and Andre Sa at the AEGON International in Eastbourne, defeating the Indo-Brazilian combine in the final on Friday. The Americans battled it out against their unseeded opponents, before prevailing 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-3 in an hour and 22 minutes.

Bopanna and Sa manager to earn nine break points on the Bryans’ serve, but could not convert even one.

In the second game, the Bryans converted one of the four break points to the final into super tiebreak.

The match tie-break was, however, entirely dominated by the Bryans who dropped just three points en route to claiming the title.

This was the Bryans’ 113th career title and their first in Eastbourne after nearly 15 years. It was also their first title in over a year, with their last coming at the Rome Open in 2016.

Earlier in the day, both teams had contested their respective semi-finals after rain-delays led to scheduling woes for the organisers. Bopanna and Sa had defeated Robin Haase and Dominic Inglot in a three-set match, while the Bryans had prevailed in straight sets over Andre Begemann and Andres Molteni.
