Despite being criticised for his comments that came in wake of his first-round loss to Mischa Zverev at Wimbledon, Bernard Tomic continues to be unfazed about his behaviour.

In a recent interview to the Australian newspaper Herald Sun, Tomic went on to defiantly note that he had achieved, and earned, quite a lot in his life that many people could only hope for.

“You probably don’t like me but, at only 24, you guys can only dream about having what I have at 24,” stated Tomic. “End of the day, don’t like me or whatever. Just go back dreaming about your dream car or house while I go buy them.”

Continuing further, Tomic also mentioned, “I worked 10 hours a day with my father, having no money in our life from the age of eight to 15. We were driving a $500 car [and] now [I have] millions and [earn] millions at 24, [have] houses all over the world.”

Tomic’s tone of dismissal for his skeptics comes at a time when his father and coach John has also joined in the slew of voices expressing their disappointment over his lackadaisical attitude.

Speaking about his son’s behavioural problems, John, who has had his share of falling afoul in the public eye with his behaviour, mentioned, “He’s my son, I love him, but I’m ashamed at how he’s approaching his business. It’s not good what he’s doing.”

The elder Tomic also added, “I do not support such behaviour, especially at a unique Grand Slam like Wimbledon. You have to have respect and follow the rules, you have to work hard. You have to put in 100% and challenge yourself.”
