Mithali Raj has been a force to reckon with in the One-Day International circuit since she made her debut, at the cusp of the end of the 20th century, in 1999. In these near-18 years, she has also been Indian cricket’s pride and joy.

The latest of her milestones came in India’s match against Australia on Wednesday at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, when she became the first woman to cross the threshold of 6,000 runs.
