The All India Football Federation has issued a notice to invite bids for new clubs for the I-League across the leading dailies of the nation.

The bids have been invited for cities Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Ranchi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Malappuram and Trivandrum, the AIFF’s release stated.

The release further clarified that the teams will have the opportunity to compete in the Asian Football Confederation’s club competitions (if applicable and subject to qualification).

The release did not mention how many new teams would be formed.

Former I-League champions, Bengaluru FC have vacated their place in the national league and will compete in the Indian Super League in the upcoming season.
