Unseeded Indian pair Yuki Bhambri and Divij Sharan entered the finals of doubles event of the 10th edition of the $150,000 Tashkent ATP Challenger being played on the Olympic tennis school courts in Tashkent.

In the semi-finals, Bhambri and Sharan conquered Spaniards Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Enrique Lopez-Perez 3-6, 7-5, 10-6. The Indian pair will now meet the winners of the match between second seeds Hans Podlipnik-Castillo of Chile and Andrei Vasilevski Belarus and third seeds James Cerretani of USA and Marc Polmans of Australia.

The winners here will get 125 ATP points and $9300 in prize money, while the finalists will get 75 Points and $5400. Top seed Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan, fourth seeded Garcia Lopez along with unseeded Marek Jaloviec of Czech Republic and Kamil Majchrzak of Poland entered the semi-finals of the singles at the event.

This is Bhambri’s first doubles final of the 2017 season in seven tournaments. It will be second final of the season for left-handed Sharan on the Challenger tour, having won the title at Bordeaux with Purav Raja.

Bhambri was stunned by Poland’s 317th ranked Kamil Majchrzak in the men’s singles event in an encounter that lasted for 110 minutes.
