Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will soon be seen as a comic book hero in a concise version of his autobiography Playing It My Way, set to hit the stands in an attempt to cater to young audiences, reported Mumbai Mirror.
Hachette India, which published the autobiography in 2014, said that the abridged version of the book will have elements that will appeal to children. About 25 pages of the book will have Tendulkar as the comic book hero, where select events of his illustrious career will be featured.
Tendulkar’s hundreds in Sharjah in 1998 against Australia and coach Ramakant Achrekar challenging bowlers to dismiss his young protege by placing a coin on the stumps will be prominent chapters. “Sachin’s team has worked on the book and it will have features that will be exciting for the young readers,” Thomas Abraham of Hachette India said.
The autobiography was priced Rs 899 but the new comic book edition will only cost one-third of that. The book will only be half the size of the 486-page original.
